Default Re: Free 2010 Backyard Bird Count Ambassador Kit

    Dear Friends,

Just a note here to clarify this offer for a Great Backyard Bird Count (GBBC) ambassador kit. The GBBC is an annual bird-counting event sponsored by the Cornell Lab of Ornithology and the National Audubon Society. GBBC ambassadors are people who are interested in participating in the Great Backyard Bird Count and actively spreading the word about it in their communities. The kit offers suggestions and materials to help promote the count. You do NOT need a kit to participate in the count itself.

If you would sincerely like to be a GBBC ambassador, please follow the link above and read more about what is involved and, if you are still interested, sign up. You can let us know what kinds of things you are willing to do, including whether or not you are willing to speak to the media about the event. Given the demand, costs of postage, etc. we are unable to provide any more hard copies of the ambassador materials (news release, flyer, tips on contacting the media) but all that information can be downloaded right from the website.

Whether or not you sign on to be an ambassador, we hope youíll visit the Great Backyard Bird Count website and consider taking part February 12-15, 2010. Itís easy and fun and the information gathered helps scientists better understand how winter bird populations may be changing from year to year. Itís your chance to be a citizen scientist!
Thank you again for your interest.

The Cornell Lab of Ornithology and the National Audubon Society
