Best Way To Sell Used Books

I'm an avid E-Bay user/purchaser, but I know it is not the most cost effective way to sell used books. Does anyone have information on half.com, Amazon.com, etc? I would like to find a place I can post the sale of the books and not have to pay until it is sold (unlike E- bay...you have a

amazon, bay, book, books, fee, free, friend, information, limited, mos, pay, place, post, repost, sale, sell, star, til, time, user, unlike, sold, posting, catherine, amount, cost, effective, user/purchaser, avid, e-bay, find, half.com, amazon.com

Default Best Way To Sell Used Books

I'm an avid E-Bay user/purchaser, but I know it is not the most cost
effective way to sell used books. Does anyone have information on
half.com, Amazon.com, etc? I would like to find a place I can post
the sale of the books and not have to pay until it is sold (unlike E-
bay...you have a limited amount of time for each sale, if it doesn't
sell, you get to repost for free, again for a limited time, and if it

doesn't sell, you still have to pay a posting fee).

My friend uses half.com with good results. She sells several per week
    through there.

Personally, what I do is trade them on paperbackswap:

    http://www.paperbackswap.com

You post books, and earn credits by posting books, as well as sending
them to people who request them. When you first sign up, if you post 9
books, you automatically get 3 credits to get you started. Most books
take 1 credit to "buy", and the person who ships them is responsible
    for paying shipping.

Now, if those 9 books are requested, you print out an addres lable, and
send it on to the person who requested it. When they receive it, they
fill out a form on the site, and you get credited one credit. So, for
your first 9 books, if all are requested, you earn 12 credits.

You spend a credit for each book you request, but you earn a credit for
    each book you send out.

This is a great site if you are an avid reader, and want new books to
read. If you sign up through my referral, I think I get 1 free credit
when you post your first 9 books.

I don't know if that interests you at all, but maybe it will interest
    some other members!

I have sold books in the past on Amazon.com and found it to be both easy to understand and a great way to make extra money. All you need is the ISBN number (or some combination of letters...can you tell I don't pay much attention to details?) and to set a price after you set up an Amazon sellers account. They notify you when the book is sold, tell you where to ship it, and that they are holding your money. You can wait until Amazon transfers it to your account after a certain period of time or you can immediately move the money to your account yourself with a few clicks of the computer. I wrap my books in cut up brown paper grocery bags, after I have wrapped the book in a plastic bag (grocery) first to protect from moisture, and then drop it in the mail....no big deal. I would certainly recommend Amazon.com for selling books- it's easy, quick, and no cash outlay to get started.

I use half.com for books. Mostly I sell my text books and I do well
with them. I like it because they do let you list free and only take
out their commission when the book sells. Off hand, I do not remember
    how much their cut is.
