Carmel Brownies
50 caramels, unwrapped
5-oz. can evaporated milk, divided
18-1/2 oz. pkg. German chocolate cake mix
1/2 c. margarine, melted
1 c. chopped nuts
1 c. chocolate chips

Place caramels and 1/3 cup evaporated milk in a microwave-safe bowl;
microwave until melted, stirring often. Set aside. Combine cake mix,
margarine, remaining evaporated milk and nuts. Press half the

mixture into a greased 13"x9" baking pan; bake at 350 degrees for 8
minutes. Sprinkle with chocolate chips; spread caramel mixture on
top. Crumble remaining cake mixture on top; bake for an additional
18 to 20 minutes. Cool; refrigerate for at least 30 minutes. Cut
into squares to serve. Makes 2 to 2-1/2 dozen.
