    Default Oregonian hello

I've been in Oregon for about 5 years, and have always been frugal both by necessity and by choice. On our little farm, we keep chickens for eggs and some for meat, pheasants for meat, "turkeys of unusual size," which dress out over 45 pounds, and ducks for eggs and amusement. We raise fruit trees, berries, and wine grapes, too. Canning and preserving the produce from our gardens keeps me hopping most of the year. I've made our own wines and beers, beginning out of curiosity, but now for the fun of learning more and perfecting my process. The "Mug in a Cup" feature drew me into Budget 101, since I work at our church's food and clothing pantry. I wanted something that we could give to singles celebrating a birthday or other occasion in a manageable size. I place the bag of toppings in the bottom of a microwave-safe mug, add the bag of ingredients, then top it with a note giving instructions and a message of encouragement. I wrap it all in Saran Wrap, which I gather at the top with a bow of curled ribbon. Most of the mugs come from donations or Goodwill. In my spare time, I like to thread crochet, but there is little spare time. That's fine with me.

Hello hello hello!!! Wow! you really have it all going. My Dad calls my house a mini farm but we really cant have anything usefull for meat. Being in city has its ups and downs. I would love chickens. The wine makeing sounds like fun too. i planted my first grape this year. Dont know how motavated ill be for makeing wine. Though i like to drink it. I think ill stick to jelly. I hope you like budget101! The group here is always helpfull and nice. You sound like you have a wonderfull place!! Feel free to share any tips you have.
