    Heart Hallo from Belgium

    Hello all,

I am a 24 year old girl/woman (never know how to call myself ) from Belgium. I live on my own in Leuven and due to a few misunderstandings lets say I have had to pay very large bills, which is why I am trying to live on a smaller budget now.

I am a DIY-er most of the time and I grow my own herbs. I also have a shop where I sell the things I make and things I own.

I am mostly interested in finding a solution to my freezer-problem here. I want to make food in advance to cut my costs, but I only have a little freezer (one of them above-fridge thingies). I can't buy one since it costs a lot and also uses a lot of electricity I think. I cook soup myself, which takes up almost all the room in my fridge already.

For the rest I would like to learn some new tips & tricks to cut down heating costs, but I'll soon start a thread about it and hope we'll work something out together.

Thanks to the moderators for creating a nice site and forum like budget101!

    Hi all,

Thanks for welcoming me! I hope I can add some useful tips too, in a Belgian magazine (Humo) there has been an issue on how to save money in the household in general, I'll post all of the tips soon (there's lots so it will take me a while ).

Welcome to the group! I have a small freezer too! ONe thing that I do is when I buy things that are in boxes or big bags that go in the freezer (like chicken nuggets, veggies, etc) I take them out of their boxes & put them into ziplock baggies. That way they don't take up so much space. Also, I can "fit" smaller ziplock baggies of veggies into little "nooks" that are open in the freezer where I might not have any room for a large bog of veggies. I hope that helps some.
