    Default Decorate-Your-Own-Egg Tees

    CRAFT MATERIALS:
    Pencil
    Paper
    Scissors
    Thin craft foam sheets
    Tacky glue
Wooden block or squares of thick cardboard
Plastic bag and cardboard to fit inside T-shirt
    Prewashed cotton T-shirts
    Paintbrush
    Fabric paint
Puffy fabric paint and fabric markers

Time needed: About 2 to 3 Hours
    1. To make an egg stamp, draw an oval onto a sheet of paper, or click here to print out a template. Cut it out. Trace it onto 2 sheets of craft foam. Cut out both eggs, glue one atop the other, then glue the pair onto the wooden block or several stacked squares of cardboard (the double layer of foam lets you apply paint to the stamp without getting any on the block). Let the glue dry.

    2. Wrap the plastic bag around the cardboard and slip it inside the T-shirt to prevent paint from leaking through to the shirt's back.

    3. Using a paintbrush, evenly coat the egg stamp with the fabric paint. Making sure the shirt's surface is smooth and flat, press the stamp onto the shirt. Allow the paint to dry for a few hours or overnight.

    4. At the party, let kids decorate the eggs with puffy paint or fabric markers. Tip: Use reinforcement labels as stencils for polka dots.
