Here's the one we use, it's good and very filling. We use turkey
    sausage.

    Sausage Gravy

    1 lb. bulk sausage
    1 sm. onion, chopped
    6 Tbs flour
    4 cups hot milk

Fry sausage until brown, add onion and cook until clear.
Stir in the flour and cook for about a minute. Add the hot milk.
Stir constantly. You can add a little more milk if it gets too thick.
    Serve over warm opened biscuits.

After you brown the sausage drain the grease off and put sausage on a paper
towel to drain the rest of the grease off. Then add 2T. butter and 2T. flour
and stir together. Then add in 4c. of milk. Stir constantly until you
    achieve
your desired consistency. Add the sausage back into the skillet and add
    salt
    and pepper to taste.
This is a favorite at our house!

I would recommend instead of using butter to use the sausage grease.
its what I learned in cooking school. plus it makes the gravy have
    that nice rich sausage flavour.

    mmm now thats whatI want!!!

Hi! I am knew here but very frugal. About the sausage gravy thing
if you are careful you can get the pioneer country gravy mix for
about .50 it has very little fat in a serving and I make a batch on
Monday at Breakfast refrigerate and reheat in the microwave for 2
more days. We generally have 1 slice turkey bacon 1 poached egg 1
piece of brown bread toasted and halved with gravy over it every
morning. So we eat a good breakfast for about .60 not including
    beverage.

    Just a thought
