3 Ways to Make Free Pizza Coupons Work Harder
If your house is like ours, the pizza coupons that come in the mail have their own special spot of honor on the counter, so that when Pizza Night rolls around we know just where they are. Ditto for the online printable pizza coupons we (shameless plug...) print right here on RedPlum. How can we resist promises of “free pizza” to customers willing to place an order at that local chain restaurant. But RedPlum readers wondered: what does it take to get that complimentary pie? And is it even that great of a deal? So we've rounded up the three ways to get the most out of your pizza coupons, and enjoy many a low-cost pie!
Be Ready For Pizza...Now!
Before you even start making plans for a deep-dish dinner at home, it’s important to check out the end dates on each coupon. Some are short-dated, so they work only if you're craving pizza tonight. Others are only valid for lunch hours, and many are never good on the weekends. Be sure that you know the validity of that coupon before you call in your order! The time to talk about whether or not your coupon's valid isn't when you're staring down that hot, cheesy goodness. To get the most out of these dollars-off or buy-one-get-one offers, be flexible. If you see that your favorite chain or mom-and-pop pizza joint has a coupon for half off a pie that expires tomorrow, why not treat yourself today. If you're willing to move Pizza Night around a bit each week, your wallet can benefit big-time.
Pizza coupons work best for a bigger crew. So if your family's large, or you're feeding friends, you are likely going to benefit most from the pizza promo. Rarely are coupons good for a pizza – just one pizza. (And when you find one that is, snap it up and use it!) Usually the purchase of one or more additional pizzas (and sometimes salad, breadsticks, and dessert) is required before you’ll get your freebie. Large families will find the deal to be beneficial to their already overwhelming food budget. And smaller families who entertain (or have kids whose friends never leave by dinner time!) can make out nicely too.
One final trick to getting the most out of pizza coupons is to be mobile. The “dine-in only” promotion is popular with pizza places, who know that if they can get you in once, you'll probably come again. Soem nights all you want is to place an order over the phone and wait for your discounted pizza to arrive. But don't rule out those coupons that are only good on orders placed at the restaurant. In some ways the dine-in option costs more (adding in the cost of fuel to get there, drinks, and some sides to complete your meal) but some restaurants offer steeper discounts on their dine-in promotions, to account for those factors. Plus, you don't eat home every night! So making the local pizza place the destination for Family Night Out shouldn't be too much of a hardship!

Re: 3 Ways to Make Free Pizza Coupons Work Harder
great pointers. Also if you order the pizza from the website they will have coupons that are only available if you order online. For instance we ordered from Dominoes the other night (yeah we splurged) and we got 2 two topping medium pizzas, an order of cheesesticks, and a 2 liter for 16.00. Not bad for ordering out. When I called they said to get the deal I had to order online, so I hung up and ordered online. I am not sure about some of the other pizza places but I know Dominoes is one you definitely want to check their online coupons on their siteMdowdy
