    Heart Asian Beef Kabobs

    Asian Beef Kabobs
1 tbs light brown sugar, packed
    2-1/4 tsp dry sherry
    2-1/4 tsp soy sauce
    1/2 tsp dark sesame oil
    1/2 clove garlic, crushed
    1/8 tsp ground ginger
1/4 lb beef filet of sirloin, cut into .25 in. thick slices (keep checking the mark-down bin! that's what I do! LOL!)
1-1/2 green onion, cut into 1.5 in. pieces

4 mini bamboo skewers, 6 in. (metal skewers work fine)
Combine first 6 ingredients in a bowl. Place beef and half of marinade in a plastic bag, turning to coat. Close securely and marinate in refrigerator 20 minutes. Reserve remaining marinade. Meanwhile, soak bamboo skewers in water 10 minutes and drain. Remove beef from marinade and discard marinade. Alternately thread beef, weaving back and forth, and green onion onto skewers. Arrange on broiler pan and broil about 3 in. from heat source 3 minutes and turn. Broil another 2-3 minutes, basting with reserved marinade. 2 servings = about 150 calories.
fried rice on the side with some snow peas and you have an elegant meal for a special occasion -- HINT!
