Default Cell Phones Go Public this Week? DoNotCall Number

Got this email today and called and it seems legit! So I entered my number. Hope this actually works!!

REMEMBER: Cell Phone Numbers Go Public this week..

REMINDER.... all cell phone numbers are being released to 20
telemarketing companies tomorrow and you will start to receive sale calls.

BAD NEWS.... YOU WILL BE CHARGED FOR THESE CALLS

To prevent this, call the following number from your cell phone: 1-
    888-382-1222.

It is the National DO NOT CALL list. It will only take a minute of
your time. It blocks your number for five (5) years. You must call from
the cell phone number you want to have blocked. You cannot call from a
    different phone number.

lol so let him get bothered. We get a few calls every once in awhile on our home number, we just tell them we are on the do not call list and they quit calling. Added my cell number just now and sent emails to everyone I know telling them to call this number. Thanks

Actually it no longer expires in 5 years. It is now premanent, per the Do Not Call Improvement Act of 2007, which became law February 2008:

"Your registration will not expire. Telephone numbers placed on the National Do Not Call Registry will remain on it permanently due to the Do-Not-Call Improvement Act of 2007, which became law in February 2008. Read more about it at http://www.ftc.gov/opa/2008/04/dncfyi.shtm."

Here's the website soyou can register all of your phone numbers :

Thanks! I surely don't want to have to pay for them to call!
