    Scissors Saving using coupons

    1. ask store about expired coupons- some will take the expired manufactures coupons

    2. couple store coupons with manufacture coupons

    3. sort and save your coupons for when the item is on sale (referencing your price book is good for knowing when the item should be on sale)

4.have more than one copy of a coupon so you can stock up when on sale

    5. match coupons to your weekly or monthly menu

    6. use your coupons at the lowest price store

    7. know what the coupon fine print is (some may say one for each item others may say one for each transaction. There is nothing wrong with making a transaction putting the items in the car and then going back in to purchase another of the same item to get the discount again before the item goes off sale and the coupon expires)

    8. If you have a coupon to get an item free try to use it when the store is running the product bogo (this will result in both items being free)

    9. If you have a coupon for more than the price of the item and the store refuses to take it ask if the amount can be reduced to match the price (some will, some will not)

    10. Keep a copy of the stores current coupon policy. Most of the time you can find these on the store website and will have it in case the cashier does not know what it is. For instance printable coupons, if the policy says they take them and the cashier says they don't, you have something to show them to support your argument.

    11. Try to find a coupon for every item on your list

That is a good idea instead of just trashing them if it is not an option in your area
