    Default Re: Valentine's Day Appetizers

This is my favorite quick appetizer. We had a lovely Italian couple over for dinner one night and they brought this dish and a dessert. I quickly asked for the recipes for both dishes as they were fabulous. The ingredients are not exact...just kind of eyeball it. This is a similar dish to brushetta.

    Crostoni:
    -------------

    Ingredients:

    - Mozzarella Cheese-Slices, shredded, or chunks
    - French Bread-Sliced
    - Tomatoes-Chopped into chunks
    - Olive Oil
    - Salt, pepper and oregano

    Preparation:

    - Place sliced French bread on cookie sheet and put in the oven (~375F) until it gets a bit crispy.
    - Chop tomatoes into small chunks and mix them in a small bowl with olive oil, salt, pepper and oregano to taste or as you like it.
    - Put the tomatoes mix on the French bread and top with some mozzarella cheese. Put it in the oven (~375F) again until the cheese melts.
