    Default Chicken for the Barbecue

    Chicken for the Barbecue
2 chickens, cut into 8 pieces
    1 1/2 quarts water
    2 bottles barbeque sauce
    2 bay leaves
    1 cup diced onions

2 tbs chicken broth, or 1 bouillon cube
In large pot, combine chicken, water barbecue sauce, bay leaves and chicken broth. Bring to a slow boil. Simmer 30 minutes or until chicken is almost tender. Remove from liquid. Cook barbecue grill or pan-broil with your favorite barbecue sauce until chicken is no longer pink in center. Brown and serve. 16 pieces = about 370 calories.
great barbecue chicken is a real treat. this is how I do it -- outside in warm weather and inside when it's chilly this is the best way to do barbecue chicken and it will keep the chicken moist and ensure it is done all the way through. this recipe also works well on game hens.

well, depending on the size of the appetites and number of sides that you serve, you could easily feed 10-16 people. when whole chickens are on sale and I have a taste for barbeque, I'll make this and then portion up the pieces to the freezer for future meals. the chicken breasts make excellent salads, fajitas, tacos, etc., with the 'cooked-in' barbeque flavor
