DRILL PARTNER - (noun) a person who is your online IM partner/buddy, their job it to encourage, support and sometimes kick you in the pants to get going on projects that need to be done. This is a 'job' for both or more of you, each supports and encourages the other. You can also use the 15 mins for working out various issues that are bugging you about the house, jobs, family, decor etc LOL

    from "DRILL INSTRUCTOR"

TIMER - your buddy and friend .. Dollar Tree has digital timers for a buck, very handy for keeping on track

    YAHOO IM:
    Ria's yahoo IM is la.modsquad6
sometimes I forget to put it up, email me a reminder if you want to drill.

I did start a DRILL PARTNERS group over in the social group area .. It's public, so if you want/need someone to get you going to clean, organize, exercise or whatever come on over.

JoAnn said to stick it over there so I did.

So far its mostly us northern girls ME, OH and S DAKOTA (I think)

    Ria Thanks,

I have a few mins. here to say Thank-You, I have found my Drill partners. From our conversation in another thread the other day. I believe only good things have come out of that thread. Which is a great start for me.

well I know if its just up to 'me' I get sidetracked real easy, with a partner I tend to write what needs done, they 'know' what needs done and if I get off track I get the kick in the pants .. LOL ..

Plus working in short spurts tends to make it move faster .. stuff gets done

once I am back in this mode I can use the commercial time on TV and get an amazing amount of little stuff done.

So far this morning I haven't got anything BIG done, but I have a bunch of little things started or finished ..

I made my MENU PLANNER master in MS since my Word program is jamming up, so couldn't use the exsisting one ..Heck most of my part of the JAN MENU PLANNER is done, gotta get the guys to write in theirs (always takes the longest). When it's all done, I need to move all the recipes into files on my one group (gets them off my computer for more space - one of those twofers)

Since word is acting up will redo the MASTER BILL PAYMENT CHART into MS and eventually just delete the Word, unless my gf can reload it.

    OT:
    Anyone use Open Office?

    Ria
heading back to the table to clear it ..

OT COMPUTER STUFF - OO etc
    Kim,
what can you do with OO? I know Kim Komando has recommended it and another HSer does too. Dori also does a lot of PDFs think she uses something called cutepdf or something like that for them though

I think before I toss anything else on my computer I have to get more stuff off it and into files online. Who knows that might be why I can't load up my word

I am fairly computer illiterate, I have a friend who is comp tech and she usually deals with anything on here. But I know my machine is pretty close to maxed

    Kim,
    since you use the cutePDF

    how hard is it?

can I make planner pages for reg notebook and 1/2 page?

    put in graphics?

    charts?

I would have to clear off more on computer probably to download and use it, but it sounds interesting

With the cutepdf, you can make your pages any sort you want then when you are done you would go to print the file but instead of printing to your printer it saves it as a pdf file. It does take up less memory but you can not edit once it is saved in that format. you would need to have another program to create your pages in about all the cutepdf does is save your item in a small file.

RIA'S ZONE: LIVING ROOM (Sat - Fri)
(*I like running my cleaning week starting Sat so I have a whole w/e for big projects)

Weather is damp & cold so pain is pretty bad, work schedule is definately slower and no big projects.

THIS WEEKS GOAL: get the craft supplies picked up and sorted and find the other couch.

THIS WEEKS LIVING ROOM TO DO's:
    15 MINS or less:
    chase cobwebs
    clean ceiling lights *fan blades
pull pictures and wipe them down
sort one shelf - giveaways in tote (one a day? or better every day this week)
    clean windows
wipe down window moldings and inside trim
pick up things that do not belong *(hum the song, one of these things doesn't belong)
sort a stack of misc stuff
vac the couch/chair and flip cushions
clear out under the couch and chair
clear around the leg machine - vac too
vac front room, desk area and hall
    vac the baseboard heaters

Repack the car tote with supplies, books, give aways for next drop off at work.
"ditto" car bag for clothing bank
Need to pull the extra craft supplies I used at work for classes and put away.

    pull bills and write them
    print day runner/planner/control journal pages

*have Jake put up the suspended ceiling tile

    45 MINS:
Figure out what craft classes I'll do in Jan. Make up patterns and supply list. Write up description and post.

?? put up ceiling fan and light??

    30 MINS:
Pack Jan class supplies ready to go. Make list of missing supplies (? need to go to Top for supplies?)

clear the roll top desk (AGAIN !)

TONIGHT & SUNDAY NIGHT CRAFT NOTEBOOK: Looks like a sort paperwork project night. I have to admit I hate dealing with paperwork, but most of the papers in the front room are craft oriented, so its not completely horrible. I am trying to get them organized into a CRAFT NOTEBOOK for my personal use and also for the non-profit I vol at. Can only sit on couch for short periods of time.

    SUN MORNING/EARLY AFTERNOON:
check out Normans repairs on heating system
p/u dog food and bread in LA

Oh my, deleted this the second I read it! My only week off for the year. You are working hard! I might have deleted it but I'll be back next week running full tilt! I'm reading, sleeping and puttering around this week and loving it! Caught up on a few end of the year notes and ready to go climb in bed with my book again.
