    Default Festive Cookie Mix

    Festive Cookie Mix

1 1/4 cups all purpose flour
    1/2 tsp. baking powder
    1/4 tsp. baking soda
    1/3 cup packed brown sugar
    1/3 cup granulated sugar
3/4 cup red and green miniature candy coated chocolate pieces
1/2 cup swirled peanut butter and milk chocolate chips
1/2 cup coarsely chopped lightly salted peanuts
1/2 cup chocolate covered toffee bits

Combine flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt in medium bowl. Stir well. Pour 3/4 cup of mixture into 1 quart wide mouth jar with tight fitting lid. Pack down well. Add brown sugar and pack down. Add remaining flour mixture, granulated sugar, candies, chips, peanuts and toffee bits. Pack down lightly after each layer. Seal jar.

Cover top of jar with fabric. Attach gift tag to jar with raffia or ribbon.

    Attach Tag:

1/2 cup (1 stick) butter, softened
    1 egg
    1/2 tsp. vanilla

    1 jar Festive Cookie Mix

Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Line cookie sheets with parchment paper, set aside.

Beat butter in large bowl with electric mixer at high speed until light and fluffy. Beat in egg and vanilla (mixture may appear curdled.) Stir in contents of jar by hand until light dough forms. Drop rounded tablespoonfuls of dough 2 inches apart onto prepared cookie sheets.

Bake 8 to 10 minutes or until firm and golden brown. Cool 1 minute on cookie sheet, transfer to wire rack to cool completely. Store in airtight container.

I like to keep these mixes for my own use also. Very conforting to open the pantry door and see an array of mixes to choose from. And they are easy to make up. Thanks.
