    Heart Coconut Brownies

    Coconut Brownies

    1/4 cup butter, melted

    1/4 cup brown sugar
    2 eggs
    1 tsp. vanilla
    3/4 cup flour
    1 tsp. baking powder
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/2 -3/4 cup nuts

    Topping:

    1/4 cup butter, melted
    1/2 brown sugar
    1 cup coconut

    Mix butter, sugar, eggs and vanilla. Add flour, baking powder, salt and nuts. Mix well. Pour into greased 8x8 pan and bake at 350 for 30 minutes or until done.

    Mix topping ingredients and spread over baked brownies. Place under the broiler (3 inches from heat) to slightly brown coconut.

    This sounds delicious! Kind of like a brownie version of a Mounds candy bar. (Add almonds to it & you have an Almond Joy Brownie! ) Anyway, this one's going into my Favorites! Thanks so much!

    Adding almonds sounds really good. A little twist is great - I like changing recipes like this.
