Fels Naptha - What is it, where to buy it
Hi Everyone,
Does anyone know what is in Fels Naptha? I have always used a ph
balanced, environmentally correct laundry detergent and now have used
the powdered version of the laundry recipe and seem to like it, but
wondered if any of the ingredients are harsh at all? There are no
ingredients on the label of Fels Naptha that I understand - like
cleaning agents ... what are they?
I know from past experience that many brands on the shelves today
have fillers in them which cause the skin to be irritated. Any input
would be appreciated. And I really don't want any products that may
be caustic.
Thanks and enjoy the posts!

I don't know what is in Fels Naphtha, but have made my own laundry soap
for the first time a month ago and have been watching very carefully to
see if my son has any skin problems as he is very sensitive to additives
in soaps and detergent. He has had no irritation at all. Hope that info
helps.

I am not completely sure what the ingredients are but I can say that I did
try it but was very careful when I did. My hubby has sensitive skin to
perfumes and certain soaps so I was very concerned that he would have
problems with the laundry soap. He has had no problems with the soap and I
made sure to let him wear the clothes before I told him that way he couldn't
try to say that he did have problems with it. I don't believe that it is
caustic but I can say that it does very well at getting urine smell out of
clothes so it does work very good.

I still haven't found it in any of my local stores - probably my town
is too small. However, at Walmart I did find Zote. Will that work?
I think I'm going to have to buy the washing soda online. I just
hate to do that b/c I think it makes the price go up.
Thanks,
Aine

I just found Fels Naptha at our Dollar General. Give them a try if you have
one close.

I understand that Zote will work very well. They don't sell that in Michigan.
Octagon has also been used by some of the folks on here.

Dear Aine,
http://www.kidrontc.com has both fels naptha for $1.99 a bar. Not as
cheap as a grocery store, but way cheaper than Lehman's Non-electric store
online.
