    Talking Pot Roast Cacciatore

    We had this for dinner and it was DELICIOUS

    Pot Roast Cacciatore

    2-3 lb Chuck Roast, trimmed of excess fat
    2 T olive oil
    2 cloves garlic, minced
    1 medium onion, sliced
    1 green bell pepper, sliced
    1 cup mushrooms, sliced
    1 28 oz jar of spaghetti sauce
    Freshly ground black pepper
    1 tsp italian seasoning

    Heat olive oil in skillet and add garlic, cooking until fragrant. Add roast and brown on all sides. Place in slow cooker. Sprinkle with black pepper. Arrange onion and pepper slices on top of roast. Add mushrooms, italian seasoning, and pour sauce over roast.

    Cook on High for 5 hours, or low for 8 hours.

    Can either shred the meat and return to sauce, or cut into serving pieces and pour sauce over the meat. Serve with hot spaghetti.

    Yum. I used what I had, such as my green pepper was frozen and chopped and my mushrooms were canned. Nobody complained. IT was gobbled up.
