This recipe has been in the family for 25+ years and is a keeper!

Banana Split Cake

3 sticks soft butter (divided)

2-3 c. crushed graham crackers

1 egg

2 c. powdered sugar

1 lg or 2 med cans crushed pineapple, drained

3 to 5 bananas

1 lg. container whipped topping

1 sm. bottle maraschino cherries

Pecan halves or pieces



1. Melt 1 1/2 sticks of butter. Mix with graham cracker crumbs and press into 13 x 9 x 2 inch pan.
2. Melt the other 1 sticks of butter. Beat egg, butter and powdered sugar for 15 minutes with electric mixer. Spread mixture over crumbs layer.
3. Spread pineapple over creamy layer.
4. Slice bananas into rounds and place on top of pineapple.
5. Cover banana layer with whipped topping.
6. Top whipped topping with cherry halves and pecan halves or pieces.
7. Chill at least 3-5 hours before serving.
