    Default Moving to SC

I really appreciate the response I have gotten. We have considered
Conway SC which is outside Myrtle Beach. Any one know anything about
    this area?

Our house is listed but when it does sell, I am going to panic because
we really don't know where to go. SC sounds really great for the money
end of it, but i absolutely hate the cold weather. Even 70 is now cold
for me since moving to Florida. Any one ever been there in the winter>
We used to live in Beaufort but that was 44 years ago when my DH was in
the service and I really don't remember. It's gotten too pricey now.

Iamy really stressed not knowing where to go where Ai get more bang for
    my buck for a house.

I have been living in Goose Creek, SC for just over a year. We moved here from Hawaii, (hubby is navy) and I can't bear the cold here. I am absolutely miserable right now. I am soo ready to go back to Hawaii or heck anywhere warm for that matter

I'm getting a chuckle out of you guys who think SC is cold. I live in
the Boston area, and it regularly only gets into the 20's during the
day. I hate the cold too, but 70 degrees sounds absolutely wonderful
    right now!

    Hi Ya'll,

I have lived in South Carolina all my life. We have a saying here, "If you don't like the weather today, stick around, it will be different tomorrow."

Today, I woke up a little after 4 am & it had started snowing! Wonderful....yay! Now, ya'll up North will laugh at us. Where else can one inch of snow shut down an entire state for 2 days? South Carolina! I believe it was back in "the Blizzard of 86" when the City of Greenville bought snow plows, salt trucks and all sorts of other things for "the winter season". Have they been used since? NO, not but maybe three times!

Ya'll come on down, weather's great! Hey, Spring will be here before you know it!

Go on line and look for a cost of living calculator- when DH checks out jobs in different areas, I always look to see how well we can live there with our current income...there should be several to choose from.

    Mary Ann,

I know someone who has lived in Conway for many years and totally loves it. She thinks "too many northerners are moving in," however! Do go and check it out first, though. One thing I like about that area is the islands off the coast--ao many charming ones to explore.

How far is Conway outside of MB? My dad has a place in North Myrtle Beach. He tells me the cost of living there has risen dramatically in the last few years with his place really appreciating. As for weather, I know it is warmer then NC where he usually is but it is much colder than Southern California where I live. However, I do know he really enjoys that area. If you have specific questions and Conway is close to NMB, feel free to ask me and I can ask him!
