I use jars for leftovers and storing things like nuts and raisins, flour, corn meal. I use bags when I'm freezing, mostly meat.

I love my food saver for freezer bound food items that will be stored for longer periods of time. I also package foods for camping in the food saver bags so I don't have to worry about the ziplock bags opening up. The bags take up less room for storage.

    We use the foodsaver:

We mainly use the foodsaver bags for anything going into the freezer- meats, cheese, homemade sauces, leftovers, etc. They can be washed and reused. I turn them inside out and run them through the dishwasher, then reuse for whatever was in them to begin with. (If it had chicken the first time, it gets used for chicken the next time). Usually a bag is good for 3 cycles.

We mainly use Jars for Dry goods, Homemade mixes, fresh fruits & veggies (going back into the fridge), Homemade Make ahead Salads, homemade breakfast cereals such as granola, homemade snack mixes, etc

We use the Foodsaver Handheld & the Jar Sealer top to seal our dry goods

Jar Sealer top looks like this:

The Food saver handheld is great for small spaces, (Camping, traveling, etc)
