Salt and pepper, to tasteBrown cube steaks in a nonstick skillet.Spoon soup evenly over cube steaks.
Add about 3/4 can of water or enough water to braise (not stew) steaks.

Serves 4.
Price break down:$4.99 a pound for cube steak: 1 pound = $4.99
$1.00 for can of soup 1 can = 1.00
Salt, pepper, water FREETotal cost: $5.99 or approximately $1.50 per serving
Note: Cube steak used to be $3.99 a pound in California but now ranges between $4.99 to $5.49 a pound. You could make this with thin round steaks but you’ll have to tenderize the steaks before browning them. You could serve this with mashed potatoes or rice, if you like. - November 12, 2014 at 5:41 pm #459380Frugal Mom
I fixed these for dinner last night in the pressure cooker. The steaks were done in about 20 minutes. I cooked the steaks for about 10 minutes and then allowed the pressure to slowly drop.
Total cook time was about 20 to 25 minutes. I didn’t time the pressure drop. Served the steaks with instant mashed potatoes and a salad.
Yummy comfort food.
