"In honor of Presidents' Day, the Cerritos Center for the Performing Arts (CCPA) is presenting a free concert by the U.S. Air Force Band of the Golden West on Tuesday, February 18 at 7 p.m. The program features standard wind ensemble literature, military marches, Jazz and Pop arrangements, Broadway standards, and patriotic music along with vocal and instrumental solos.

Stationed at Travis Air Force Base in the San Francisco area, the group is the only active-duty Air Force band west of the Rockies. Consisting of 47 Airmen musicians, the ensemble tours California, Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Nevada, Arizona, and Utah, performing more than 250 shows a year for more than 1.5 million listeners.

The band supports 13 Air Force bases, eight Air Force Reserve Wings, and six recruiting squadrons.The Band of the Golden West has played at gubernatorial inaugurations; at Tournament of Roses parades; and at the 2004 interment ceremony of President Ronald Reagan, which drew a global TV audience of more than 400 million viewers. The group has also performed with the Los Angeles Philharmonic and the San Francisco Symphony.

A limited number of tickets is available only by visiting the CCPA Ticket Office or by mailing a self-addressed, stamped envelope with the number of tickets requested to the CCPA Ticket Office at 12700 Center Court Drive, Cerritos, CA 90703. There is a limit of four tickets per household. Seating is General Admission. If the concert sells out, there will be a stand-by line to accommodate the overflow seating."
