Do you already have the head of the bed propped up? Do you wait at least 2-3
hours before you go to bed? Do you know what your trigger foods are? If so avoid
them at night. Alittle bit of baking soda with water might help. If it is
getting serious you should see your doctor. The acid could damage the esophagus
or eat holes in your stomach lining. Sometimes I have to take 2 Nexxum a day to
    keep mine under control.

Use a little baking soda in 1/2 glass of water.

I made the mistake of thinking I could manage my acid reflux---it got to
the point where it took my breath away and I was gasping---I read a
article in a magazine about it can cause cancer of the esopaghus if not
take care of---I went to the doctor and I had a small ulcer start inthe
my throat----I needed a operation to correct the problem of the
rellux---I do not mean to scare anyone but I would suggest you see a

doctor and listen to what he suggests and follow the suggestions--take
care of yourself -- altho people mean well with what works for them but
check it out with a doctor--Rita

Try taking papya enzyme with your meal to help your digestion &
cutting out pop & other high acid or fat foods. If you can't cut
them out entirely, try having your heavy meal at lunch then a light,
healthy supper. Keep a notebook that lists what you ate when & how
you felt that night & take it with you when you talk to your doctor
    or nutritionist.

    Blessings,
    Carla

I suffer from acid reflux all the time. I have brought Tums, Pepcid, and Tagmet. But this can get very expensive. My grandmother told me this one night, I could not rest and it worked. I take 1 tablespoon of apple cider vingar every night before I go to bed. It worked like a charm!!!

This sounds as if it might be a hiatal hernia...you should get it checked by a professional to see if it is or not. They can treat you for appropriately. Usually, it is treated with different types of antacids, and times that you eat, raising the head of the bed, etc. Good luck!

I have a hiatal hernia and sleep with 4 pillows and still wake up at night asperating vomit that's risen in my throat. I have damage to my esophogus. What makes it better for me (I can't afford the miracle medicine Protonix) is Acid Controller from Wal-mart. Costs $5 for 30 pills. Well worth the $$.

You should have it checked by a gastroenterologist to find out exactly what's causing it.

    Best of luck.
