Default For a Halloween bday party for kids and adults together

    Hello all,
I would like to know if you have ideas for this halloween/bday party
that I am having for my son. Parents and kids will be there
together. I would like ideas for recipes.....punch...whatever you
have. I am trying to get this party organized before
October. Oh and my son is going to be 14yrs old.

    Thanks for your help,
    Kelly

We have a huge halloween party every year--about 50 people, kids and
adults. One of the things that everyone seems to love is the gross-out
punch. It's just frozen lemonade, limade, and pink lemonade (made with
water as directed) and you put a 1/2 gallon or so of rainbow sherbet in
it--it turns a gross brown color but people love it. The part they
really love is that I take a NON-POWDERED rubber glove, rinse it out,
fill it with water and freeze it over night. When you unwrap it it
looks like a hand floating there I tried doing it with food
coloring so you could see it more, but it doesn't work--as it freezes,
the coloring all comes back together into one spot so it's kind of
    funny looking!

One of the games we played was mummy wrap. The kids loved it. You pair the
group off. Then, one person is the mummy-to-be while the other person wraps
    them in toilet paper.

The "guess what this is" game someone mentioned was a hit with the kids.

For decorations we had tin can holders for candles and replaced all outside
lights with black light bulbs. I used Vienna sausage cans painted black
screwed to painted dowel rods inserted in the ground to resemble torches. We
    put
water in soup and veggie cans then froze them. After freezing, punch a pattern
in them using a hammer and nail. Unfreeze, paint and hang from trees or place
on table with tea or votive candles in them. If you hang them be careful.
Use wire not string to hang them.

I served grave yard cake, spider hot dogs, popcorn hands and punch with
    frozen hands.

The grave yard cake was made with chocolate cake topped with chocolate
frosting. Crumble up some Oreo cookies and spread on top to look like dirt.
    Add
worms and Brach's cream pumpkins. When my sister made it she used gramcrackers
to resemble tombstones. She used icing to write RIP.

To make spider hot dogs, think of the hot-dog as divided into three sections.
Leave the middle section uncut. Slice each end in half from the middle
section to the end. Then rotate it and cut in half again. When finished, the
    hot
dog should have an uncut middle with each end cut into fourths. When these
cook, the ends curl up creating a spider like effect. The kids got a kick out
    of these.

To make popcorn hands I used clear plastic food handler gloves. I filled the
tip of each finger with corn candy to resemble fingernails then added the
popcorn. You can add spider or bat rings to one of the fingers.

I think someone else already mentioned how to make the frozen hand punch.
Another idea would be to use a cauldron and some dry ice for a bubbling brew
    drink.

I love the idea where you blindfold people and have them put their hands in
icky stuff. Like cooked spaghetti could be brains, grapes would be eyeballs,
    etc. Have fun!
