my mom used to make this when i was young. it is very
popular with my husband, freezes well, and tastes
great the next day!


1 lb ground beef
1/3 cup tomatoe sauce or puree
1/2 cup rice (quick cooking)
2 heaping tb granulated garlic
1 tb oregano
2 tsp salt
1 egg

for the rest:
2 cups water
5 cups tomatoe sauce or puree (i usually use plain
1.5-2 cups rice (quick cooking)

first, make meatballs with the first ingrenients, and
put them in a cold high sided skillet with a little
bit of oil. then, cover the pan and set on low heat
for about 20-30 minutes, turning once (time may vary

depending on the size meatball you make. just cook
till done). then, add the rest of the ingredients,
making sure the rice is all totally surounded by
liquid. cover, cook low heat till done (usually 15-20
