The Baking Mix (makes 13 c. - get a BIG bowl!!)

10 1/2 c. sifted flour
1/4 c. baking powder
1 1/2 T. salt (I don't add the salt myself - personal preference)
1/2 c. sugar
2 c. shortening (I like the Crisco butter flavor best)
1 c. buttermilk POWDER (found in the baking section)
2 1/2 tsp. baking soda

Mix all ingerdients w/an electric mixer until particles are small &
uniform in size. Can be stored on the shelf for 3 months in a
tightly covered container.
