spaghetti sauce recipe
This is a recipe for the crockpot. My husband likes the meat... if I
make it w/o then he's wailing "WHERE'S THE BEEF????" I TRY to cut
his meat intake down... what can I say? He's German w/a taste for
Italian food. *g* Anyway, I double the recipe, cook it in the
crockpot, & then put it in Mason jars (for freezing) for future use
in the freezer. Keeps awhile - just don't forget!!
1 lb. ground beef
1 lb. sausage (I use ground turkey & turkey sausage)
large onion, chopped
4 cloves garlic
salt & pepper to taste
After browned, put into crockpot.
2 tsp. oregano
1 tsp. thyme
1 tsp. rosemary
2 bay leaves
2 (28 oz.) cans of chopped garlic roasted tomatoes (can use plain)
2 (6 oz.) cans tomato paste
2 (9 oz.) cans tomato sauce
1/3 c. olive oil
Combine w/beef mixture, set on low, all day. Freezes well.
BTW - have ya'll seen the new caps Ball has come out w/for Mason
jars?! These are WONDERFUL!!!
