Making cloth diapers from recycled materials?

I volunteer at a goodwill and we are allowed to take home any clothing that is ripped or otherwise non-saleable. I'm curious if anyone else here has made cloth diapers from recycled clothing? So far I'm hoping to make use of fleece for liners, wool (100% wool sweaters I will felt and make

Default Making cloth diapers from recycled materials?

I volunteer at a goodwill and we are allowed to take home any clothing
that is ripped or otherwise non-saleable. I'm curious if anyone else
here has made cloth diapers from recycled clothing?

So far I'm hoping to make use of fleece for liners, wool (100% wool
sweaters I will felt and make into diaper covers), flannel and terry
for soakers, and maybe some gortex as a waterproof outer layer.

In about a month when I have some extra money I plan to purchase a
second hand sewing machine, I've seen a few in the local buy and sell
    paper for $20 to $30.

Anyone who has made their own cloth diapers, do you have any tips for
    me?

    Thanks very much,
    Shaynelle

    Shaynelle,

    I would suggest diapersewing.com

this site has so much wonderful information on how to make different
kinds of diapers and how to make your own patterns. It sounds like
you have tons of resources for materials. Kudos to you!!

I cloth diapered baby #2 and #3 and for a little while #4 - but just
didn't have it in me to do it anymore. With housework, homeschool 2
older kids, 1 preschooler and the baby I just couldn't keep up. But

I think it is admirable and makes the budget stretch a lot farther.
With the way things are going, I soon may be forced into it again

    Hope this helps,
    Kriss
