      On one hand, if things go south, they can take your house away from you and you can still owe a home loan with no place to live. On the other hand, they can't take your education away from you, but you can end up with wages garnished and tax rebates taken away. If the wages are garnished, then you can't pay the house……

      So, probably get rid of the student loans first…..
