    Default Chewy Granola Bars

    Chewy Granola Bars
    INGREDIENTS:

a.. 1 cup brown sugar, packed
    b.. 1/4 cup sugar
    c.. 1/2 cup butter, softened
    d.. 2 tablespoons honey
    e.. 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
    f.. 1 egg
    g.. 1 cup all-purpose flour
    h.. 1 teaspoon cinnamon
    i.. 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
    j.. 1/4 teaspoon salt
k.. 1 1/2 cups quick cooking rolled oats
    l.. 1 1/4 cups crispy rice cereal
m.. 1 cup chopped pecans or other nuts
n.. 1 cup chocolate chips or raisins
o.. 1/3 cup toasted wheat germ
    PREPARATION:

Grease a microwave baking dish about 12- X 8-inches. In large bowl, cream sugars
with buter until light. Beat in honey, vanilla, and egg; blend well. Gradually
blend in flour, cinnamon, baking powder, and salt, beating at low speed of
electric mixer. Fold in remaining ingredients with a spoon; press firmly into
    the prepared baking dish.
Microwave on MEDIUM (50%) for 7 to 9 minutes or until set. Rotate dish 1/2 turn
every 3 minutes. The granola bars will firm up as they cool. Cool and cut into
    bars.
Makes about 18 to 24, depending on size.

    Cool Re: Chewy Granola Bars

my family is pretty much meat potatoes and plain garden salad, so I am not sure how much I would have to add, but if I come across something worthwhile I will gladly post
