    Default HELP WITH TICK PROBLEM

I live in Weatherford, TX~~~which is in the N. Central part of the
state and we have been "invaded" by ticks this summer. What have y'all
used to treat this problem successfully?

I try to go all natural/organic, but.............. I have already used
DE--not the kind for swimming pools, but the kind recommended by the
local organic "Dirt Doctor";& also I am using a compost tea.

    Thanks for any advice.

    HELP WITH TICK PROBLEM

I don't know how to prevent them... but I do know that if you have to get them
out of your skin a little tea tree oil on a cotton swab rubbed by them will make
them pull out without any damages.

If you get a tick on you or a pet, you can put vasoline right on it. It will
smoother them and you will be able to pick it right out - dead.... My mom's dog
had one on the top of her head, put (imbedded), we put vasoline on it and it
    came out within an hour.

I have been using a product called "Bug Off Garlic" on my dogs. Last year
we were infested with ticks, both inside and out. So far this year I have
    only found 4 ticks total.
I was using "Frontline" but I really was having a problem putting it on my
pets and then telling the children that they couldn't pet the dogs for a
    day.
The cheapest place that I have found the "Bug Off" is www. petwebstore.com.

    Hope this helps,

Add some garlic powder to the flax oil and brewers yeast. It helps repel
fleas, I think it repels ticks too. You can also make an herbal sachet
collar to wear to repel ticks too.

Thanks very much for the information. I will look at those sites and see
what I can find out. The garlic idea sounds interesting. I think I have
some garlic powder. Plus I have some canned minced garlic.
