I worked for a Vision center for ten years. I mainly fit and dispensed eyeglasses. Clean plastic lenses with 100% cotten cloth. DO NOT use paper products of any kind. No kleenex, toilet paper or wipes. There are certain paper wipes that are advertised as being for cleaningeyeglasses. Do not use them. I have seen many scratched glasses that were clean only with these so called eyeglass wipes. There are fibers in all paper products that scratch.
There are microfiber cotten cloths that are soldby mosteyeglass dispensers. They probaly cost a couple of dollars these days. They can be washed and used over and over for years. You can also use an old cotten tshirt.

Flour sack towels or cloth diapers do a great job cleaning lens of all

types without leaving any lint residue.

I was told to always wet the lenses first, then use a drop or two of

dish soap or hand soap to clean them. Rinse, then dry the lenses with a

soft, clean towel. Never use paper towels and never just wipe them off

    when the lenses are dry.

This is how I clean my glasses and I have had them for a good 6 or 7

years now. There are only a couple minor scratches on them and that is

probably from the few times that I did not clean them with water, soap,

and dry with a clean cloth.

When I was little, my friend's dad always had a pair of underwear on the back of his couch. I always wondered whyit was there. Come to find out, that's what they would use to clean their glasses. Side note: the undies were never worn....LOL!!

<DIV style="FONT-FAMILY: Arial;">I always take mine in the shower with me. When I lather the shampoo on my hair, I just scrub the glasses down, too. The shampoo cuts all the oils and grease as well as the dirt. I hang them on the shampoo holder over the shower nozzle while I finish up. I wipe them off with a towel then use an old t-shirt to polish them. Come out perfect every time.

That liquid stuff and a piece of that fabric that they make swimsuits out of it. I got a kit from the Lenscrafters place at the mall from my niece as a gift a couple of years ago. Still using it.

Walmart also gives them away at health fairs - so I have two of them.
