11.0pt;color:#7030A0;">So do parents of children on SSDI, getting a
    property tax break.

11.0pt;color:#7030A0;">We are retired disabled Vets and you have to
be disabled a certain percentage (40%?) AND it won’t take effect until you’ve
filed Taxes showing that your income is less than a percentage. That is what we
learned at this point but we are NEWLY retired.

    11.0pt;color:#7030A0;"> If
anyone knows differently I hope you will share.

I'm almost possitiveyou have to be 100% disabled to get the property tax break. I'm 100% DAV. No, you do NOT need to file taxes if that is your only source of income, just a letter from the VA showing you are 100% and your income.

11.0pt;color:#7030A0;">My neighbor gets a tax decrease because he is
a senior citizen. There might be an age restriction or requirement of being “retired.”

<FONT face="Arial" size="4">This varies greatly by state and in some cases within the state. So what happens in your area may not be the case where I live.
