    Default Homade Dish Detergent

Does anyone happen to know how to make dish detergent. We go thru so

much of the store bought that I am hoping that there is something I

    could make to cut cost.

    Thank You!!

I find that if you use a sponge the soap goes a longer way.

Jane: I buy the 16 ounce bottle of Dove or Palmolive dish soap at the

dollar store for about $1.10 and pour about 1/2 bottle of it into an

    empty

16 ounce bottle and fill both bottles with cold tap water. It still

makes suds after I add the water. One bottle lasts me about a month

    or

    a little longer.

However, I have a dish washer and there`s just me and my husband. The

store brand dosen`t work for me, for it dosen`t suds on greasy pots

and pans. After I wash the pots and pans with the store brand they

have a greasy feeling to them.

You might want to try this and see if works for you.

    Default Homade Dish Detergent

    1 tablespoon borax

    1 tablespoon baking soda

This is good for 1 load

***I usually make a big batch by mixing equal parts of borax and baking

soda and then just keep a 2 tablespoon scoop in the container for

    measuring it when needed.

Is this for automatic dishwashers or washing by hand? I would love

to make my own for automatic dishwashers.

Just curious.....does it clean as well as the brand name

detergents? Approx. how much is a box of borax (and does it

dissolve well in hard water?) Thanks.

I'm not sure if this is any cheaper. I buy an off brand of detergent

that is pretty cheap BUT borax with arm and hammer laundry soap is

    cheap for laundry detergent.
