Freezing Peaches

Can anyone tell me how to freeze peaches? Do you have to do anything to them except cut them up and put in freezer bag? Thank you

    Default Freezing Peaches


    Yes you need to put water with citric acid in the bags. Sugar is optional. You can add the sugar to the water making a syrup or leave the sugar out. The citric acid( fruit fresh or lemon juice)is not optional . Without citric acid the peaches will turn black when you thaw them out.

    That's what I do. I do have a bowl of water that I put the bag in,

    with the resealable closure up, allowing the water to force all the

    air out, then seal the bag.

    I apologize if this has been mentioned
    before but I dip mine in lemon juice and then just freeze in the bag. I find
    that putting them in water makes them extra mushy when they thaw.
