    Default NEED HEART HEALTHY recipes

Hi all, I've just got home with my husband who is only 53 years old
and just had open heart surgery. He's doing well but I need a bit of
    help from anyone who can.
I need heart healthy recipes that are cheap and easy to make. Anything
that anyone can come up with would be great. I ordered a heart healthy
cookbook on Amazon.com but that will be about 2 weeks from now.
He's going to be out of work for 8 weeks and that means only my
paycheck coming in. Christmas just became all about the family and not
about gifts since I hadn't even started shopping when he became ill but

we're all fine with that since at least he's here with us.
Thanks ahead. Appreciate anything you can come up with.
    Phyllis

Get the South Beach Diet cookbooks. They are heart healthy recipies and very flavorful. The Dr who wrote the diet is a heart surgeon - he did it for his patients and noticed the side effect of weight loss.

Also, you might want to check out the Healthy Recipes section on the
    Mayo Clinic's website.

    Re:Need recipes

I've always been pleased with Cooking Light, and
naturally they are geared towards healthy recipes ...
lower in fat and cholesterol, sometimes even sodium.
It's cheaper to get a subscription than buy it every
month at the news stand. They do have a website too,
cookinglight.com. But to get to the actual recipes,
you either need to have a "code" word or number -- if
you have a subscription, it's some number on your
address-tag, and you will then have access for the
length of your subscription. Or there is a code word
in that month's issue, and it will last you for two
months. So you could actually just browse through the
magazine at he store if you want and get the word ...
it's towards the front, and is usually something easy
like TOMATOES or THANKSGIVING or something.
