The FDA has recalled Mitosol, which is a branded version of the generic drug mitomycin. The recall covers mitomycin for solution in a 0.2mg/vial kit for Ophthalmic use. NDC 49771-002-01 and covers the following codes; Lot MO98260, Exp 08/2013 and Lot MO86920, Exp 08/13
The reason the drug was recalled is that the FDA found one or more parts of the kit to be non-sterile and contaminated with a strain of yeast identified as Rhodotorula-bacarum
