Sunny Summer Sabayon

Prep time: 20 min.

Baking time: 15-20 min.

Baked fruit:

4 fresh peaches, cut into wedges

4 plums, cut into wedges

8 wedges

2 tablespoons sugar

2 tablespoons butter, melted

Dark Chocolate Miniatures Sabayon:

5 large egg yolks

1/3 cup sugar

1 teaspoon orange extract

12 Dark Chocolate Miniatures

1 1/2 cups whipped cream

Fresh raspberries and mint, optional

What to do:

Toss fruit with sugar and butter. Bake on foil-lined sheet pan in

preheated 400-degree oven for 15 to 20 minutes. Keep warm.

For the sabayon: Beat yolks with sugar in bowl set over saucepan of

simmering water. Whisk until mixture is hot and thickened, about 3


Add Dark Chocolate Miniatures; stir until melts. Remove from heat and

stir in orange extract. Cool slightly, stirring occasionally. Fold in

whipped cream.

Arrange fruit on plates, top with sabayon, raspberries and mint.

Makes 8 servings.


Patriotic Popcorn Party Buckets

Prep time: 10 min.

Decoration time: 20 min.

1 bag M&M'S Brand Milk Chocolate Candies

8 cups caramel popcorn

2 empty oatmeal or grits containers

4 sheets each white, red and blue construction paper



Star stickers, optional

Flag, optional

Pinking shears, optional

What to do:

Cover the containers with white construction paper and glue. Cut 18

strips of red paper, 3/4-inch wide and the same height as the

containers. Randomly glue the strips to the containers.

Make two handles by cutting strips approximately 3/4-inch x 12-inch,

using blue construction paper and attaching them to the inside of the

containers. Decorate the outside of the containers with stars and


In a large mixing bowl, toss the caramel popcorn with the M&M'S Brand

Milk Chocolate Candies. Fill each bucket with the snack.

Makes 2 buckets.


Firecracker Empanadas

Prep time: 15 min.

Cooking time: 26 min.

1 (3.53-ounce)Dark Chocolate Bar, melted

20 frozen empanada shells, thawed (or flour tortillas, standard size)

1 (8-ounce) package cream cheese, softened

4 ounces butter, softened

1/4 teaspoon salt

1 teaspoon chipotle chili powder

1/2 teaspoon cinnamon

1/2 teaspoon nutmeg

3 cups confectioners' sugar

1/3 cup whole milk

1 1/2 cups canola oil


2 cups sliced strawberries

2 cups frozen blueberries

1 cup whipped topping or whipped cream

Blend cream cheese and butter until smooth. Mix in salt, Dark

Chocolate Bar, chipotle chili powder, cinnamon, and nutmeg, mix

thoroughly. Alternately add confectioners' sugar and milk, blending

thoroughly. Set aside.

Spoon 2 teaspoons of filling into the center of each empanada shell.

Fold in half and press edges with a fork to seal. Repeat until all

shells are filled.

Heat oil in a large, heavy skillet over medium-high heat. Fry

empanadas 1-2 minutes on each side, until browned. Drain on a rack

over paper towels.

To serve, top empanadas with red, white and blue lines of

strawberries, whipped topping and blueberries. Dust with

confectioners' sugar.

Tip: If using tortillas, spoon 2 teaspoons of Dark Chocolate filling

into the center and fold like a burrito, keeping filling tucked

inside. Secure with a toothpick before frying.

Makes 20 empanadas approximately.


Cookie Canvas

Prep time: 25 min.

Activity time: 30 min.

4 rolls refrigerated sugar cookie dough

2 2/3 cups flour

3 large bags M&M'S Brand Milk Chocolate Candies

4 16-oz. cans white frosting

Plastic tablecloth

Masking tape

1 sleeve 10-oz. plastic cups

8 craft sticks

What to do:

Bake the cookies several days in advance of the party. One at a time,

knead 2/3 cup flour into each roll of cookie dough. Roll out the

dough to 1/4-inch thickness. Cut two cookies out of each roll, each

cookie approximately 8 x 10 inches. Then, place these "cookie

canvases" on baking sheets.

Bake one sheet at a time in a preheated 350-degree oven for

approximately 25 minutes, or until each cookie is golden brown and

baked in the center. Set the cookies aside until the party.

Right before the party begins, divide M&M'S Brand Milk Chocolate

Candies between several plastic cups. Divide the frosting in the same


Cover the table with a plastic tablecloth, securing it with masking

tape. Arrange the cups of candy, frosting and craft sticks in the

table's center. Place one cookie at each child's station.

Have each child "paint" their cookie as they like, using a craft

stick as the spreader. You might challenge them by having them

incorporate all the M&M's Brand colors in their paintings!

Party Piņata

What you'll need:

What you need for the Fiesta Bags:

4 of assorted Mars Candies, such as SNICKERS Brand, M&M'S Brand

Chocolate Candies and STARBURST Brand Fruit Chews

1 colorful piņata, available at a party or discount store

Assorted silk or plastic flowers, with the stems removed

Assorted charms, plastic necklaces and plastic toys

Bandana or eye mask

Plastic bat or stick

What you need for the pinata:

4 brightly colored tissue paper


Double-stick tape


8 brightly colored lunch-sized paper bags

What to do:

What to do for the Piņata:

Fill the opening in the piņata with an assortment of Mars Candies,

silk flowers, charms, necklaces and toys. Seal the opening with

tissue paper. Set some of the prizes aside, so all of the fiesta bags

will be equally filled before taking them home. Hang the piņata

outside or in a room with plenty of space, such as a garage, family

room or basement. Be sure to hang it low enough so that it's easily

reachable by young children.

When they're ready to play, ask the children to position themselves

in a large circle, leaving plenty of safe room for the swinger. One

at a time, cover each child's eyes with a bandana. Give them the

plastic bat, turn them around, and direct them to where they can

start swinging. Remind the other kids to keep their safe space from

the swinger.

Continue letting the children take turns. If the kids are small, you

may need to help them break open the sealed opening in the bottom of

the piņata.

When the piņata opens, let the kids gather the prizes. Give each

child a decorated fiesta bag to fill up with loot. Place the bags

close to the door, and add extra goodies, charms and candy so

everyone can go home with a full bag of treats!

What to do for the Fiesta Bags:

Cut the tissue paper into strips, each 3 inches wide.

Snip the tissue strips so they resemble fringe. Place three

differently colored strips on top of each other, taping them

together. Tape the fringe tissue around the top edges of the paper


Mark each bag with a child's name!

Makes 8 fiesta bags for party guests.


Craft Collection

What you'll need:

2 bags MILKY WAY Brand MINIS

1 bag STARBURST Brand Baja California Fruit Chews

2 colorful bandanas or pieces of fabric

8 10-inch sticks

1 12-inch long piece of twine


What to do:

Cut each bandana into 4 pieces.

Fill the center of the fabric with 10 MILKY WAY Brand MINIS and 5

STARBURST Brand Baja California Fruit Chews.

Close with a piece of twine and tie onto stick.

you can also use 10.5-inch squares of any fabric.
