Maybe make mac and cheese with hotdogs and soup. Maybe someone knows
if this will freeze or not and last. Bologna is good fried in a
bologna and cheese sandwich or just as a breakfast meat when you have
no other meat for breakfast. Hope this helps. Debby

My husband makes a great split pea soup from scratch, and he adds
cream of celery soup and cut up hot dogs to it. The kids loved this
    even when they were little.

Hi Debby, this is a pretty good basic recipe:

    8 cups water
    1 pound dried split peas
    1 medium onion, chopped
    1 teaspoon salt*
    1/4 teaspoon pepper
2 medium carrots, cut into 1/2 inch pieces
2 medium stalks celery, cut into 1/2 inch pieces
1 can cream of celery soup plus 1 soup can of water
    6 hot dogs

Look through the peas to make sure there aren't any rocks. Then put
the water, peas, salt and pepper, carrots and celery into the pot and
bring it to a boil. Reduce heat. Cover and simmer for about 1 hour
or until peas turn into mush when you stir.

Add the cream of celery soup and a soup can full of water. Add cut-up
hot dogs and continue to simmer until the hot dogs are heated through
and start to bulge a little.

Of course, if you have a ham bone or some left over ham to cook up
with the peas, that will make it even tastier! *If you use ham, wait
until the end to determine how much salt to put in.
