How to Dry Chili Peppers Without a Dehydrator

Most Chili pepper plants produce more chili's than the average cook can use.

The answer to storing the peppers is easy: dry them. If you don't have a

food dehydrator, hanging the chili's is the easiest way to go.

Things You'll Need

* Heavy Thread or Thin Fishing Line

* Carpet needle or other needle with large eye

* Chili Peppers


Step One

Sort the chili peppers according to size.

Step Two

Cut a length of thread or fishing line to approximately 18 inches.

Step Three

Thread the line through the eye of the needle. Tie a knot on one end of the

Begin threading the line through the center of the chili peppers, starting

with the largest pepper and proceeding to the smallest or until the line is

three-quarters full.

Step Five

Remove the needle from the thread and tie a knot close to the top chili


Step Six

Use the remaining line to hang the chili peppers in a dry, airy space.
