My mother in law tried this program and she did not care for the food. However, I told her to give it another try and spice it up a bit by adding some seasonings. I saw what she got and thought it was a good value.

<FONT color="#57708f" size="3">Most of their meat is good but we have found some steaks (I'm not sure which ones because we take it all out of the boxes to fit in our freezer) not that good. None of us like chicken legs so when we get those, we give them away to my cousin. Most of the canned and dry food is good though I don't like the generic hamburger helper. Just try it out and see if you like it.

I've done it and liked it, but now that the FDA has approved cloned

meat for sale and human consumption without the public being told it

is cloned, I am going to organic beef now and will no longer be able

to reap the benefits of Angel Food Ministries.

To me, it didn't look like all that great a deal. The fact that it was a PACKAGE deal was part of the reason I reached that conclusion. It's no bargain if you cannot or will not eat everything offered. Much of what they offer is prepackaged and very salty, for example.

    food was of great quality.

I"m a vegan now, and cannot eat beef and pork, but if I could I would still

    order.

My family always ordered when the tenders were offered. If you are on a special diet or have issues with prepackaged foods (salt/fat/etc) then this is probably not the best deal going...

If you have a house full of people, no picky eaters and are willing to try new things, I think it's a heck of a deal!

We now love pineapple pie because of receiving one in an order once...give it a try- you can't go far wrong for the cost of one order. If it doesn't suit your family, just don't order again...

Is it possible for the cloned animals to be also raised organic?

We get it and for us it's a good deal. I've been very pleased with what we've gotten. I've been getting it since october and we now have some favorites. I also order for several families at once (friends who work and can't make the pickup) and we swap around things that we don't like. The church where we do pick up also keeps a donation box and they give the extras to a local family in need.

A good hint that I found is on hillbillyhousewife.com each month they provide mealmenus/ideas (or you can just look at many different recipes) that are made mainly consisting of ingredients from that month's Angel Food Ingredients. And they also include a shopping list of the additional ingredients. With abit of research and planning you can make this stretch a long way.You can find a lot of crockpot recipes onlinefor the meat andveggies that can go really far by cutting the meat in half or doubling the recipe with just one portion of meat.

Lisa I agree with you 100% and the pineapple pie was excellent! I'm

feeding my dh, and grown son and also 2 grandson's so we can go

through a lot of food and no one is really very picky and I'll

always find a way to use the food with some great recipes. Also

adding that I have a large garden and can and also dehydrate and

freeze Angelfood Min. really does help with the food budget even

when cooking from scratch. It's sure good to hear from other and I

also want to pass along that yahoo has and angelfood min. group and

other pass on and help each other with the way they do cook their

foods form the orders. Donna, Pa.

I think the steaks are cheaper, more tender and better tasting than

the ones that are bought at the grocery store.

This is good if you are on a limit income. Also, they will accept

    food stamps.
