Smile Lapskaus (comfort food for my Norwegian husband)

Lapskaus (comfort food for my Norwegian husband)
    large onion, diced
    potatoes, diced
Browned ground beef or any type of meat I suppose. My husband prefers ground beef.
    water and/or broth
    Salt/Pepper to taste

Fry the onion in a pot with a little butter or oil. Brown ground beef. Put everything into the pot. Bring to a boil, then simmer until the potatoes are cooked. Stir occasionally to keep from burning. Add water or broth as cooking to your prefered consistency.
My husband eats his with ketchup, and savors every bite! Go figure! Easy and cheap.
