Re: Mrs Paws Dinner Menu 12/30/12 - 1/5/13
Mrs. Paws, Do you cut your "Dales" with Lemon or Lime Juice before you marinate? I made the mistake of loading it onto pork chops one day and it set for several HOURS while we got carried away chatting in front of the fire and My Oh My, was that ever STRONG!
We cut it now with half a fresh lemon or lime or sometimes a dash of White wine vinegar.~Liss~

I can't use the original Dales marinade. It's WAY too salty, but I love using the low sodium variety. It's thick and can be diluted with a little water to make it "just right" for my taste. I've never put lemon, lime, or vinegar in it...how does it change the flavor?

It really cuts it well, I agree on the salt! We use a couple of TBS of Dales, juice of lime (or lemon), = amounts, and a dash of veggie oil. Marinate for 10-20 minutes at most, not long!
It has good flavor, not too overpowering and not too salty, really really great on pork chops. It helps bring out the garlic"y" onion flavors of the dales.~Liss~
