Default Spring! What works for you?

When winter seems long and really (really, REALLY REALLY) Sucks.. what

    helps you get through it?

This year, with politics and presidential campaigns on the tv day and

night, a looming (if not blooming) recession pending and the long days

    of winter dragging us down...

what helps you get through? What do you look forward to most?

Do you enjoy winter? Are you snowmobiling, snowshoeing, skiing, having

    snowball fights?

Are you planning your garden, starting seedlings indoors, spring

    cleaning?

What is keeping you going and making your day brighter?! Share, we

    want to know!

Great subject. I personally enjoy the warm days we get and starte doing gardening. I plant some vegetables in pots with my kids (who enjoy it) and then I can take them back inside when the temp drops. Also, just being able to be outside and play soccer with my kids and not be freezing is fun! I'm planning what to do for my actual garden when the temp gets higher! Looking forward to that! I, personally love the cold weather but it's so much more enjoyable when my family and I can get outside and play and even do yard work!

I actually do enjoy winter, but even for me, this winter has been too much. What's helping me get through this year is knowing that in July I'm going to Alaska for a wonderful vacation. KarenP

I am looking forward to it warming up. I am hoping to be able to plant some vegetablesin some containers on the decks. I have, though, particularly enjoyed watching the snow from time to time this winter, and seeing how pretty everything looks when covered with fresh snow. It's been breath-taking at times. This is probably because I have not had to drive in it this year. It's a whole new perspective. But I am ready for flowers and spring!!

I really dislike the cold! However, I love having a crackling fire and a cup of hot chocolate. I also dream of being able to sit on the couch and read a book with the fire going. Luckily, it's 60 degrees this week!

I started a new hobby of knitting socks! I can't wait to pick up my needles after dinner is cooked and all the evening chores are finished. Carol

The other day I went to Walmart to buy diapers for my

daughter, and spent a few extra minutes just "window

shopping" in the girls' clothing section. By this

point in the winter, my eyes just need to see some

bright or pastel colors, instead of drab winter

    colors.

She came home from Daddy's house with three purple

tulips, and it's amazing how just a few flowers really

brighten up the room. I get alot of pleasure from

    looking at them.

I've also been making summer plans - camping, a trip

to visit my aunt at the ocean, my daughter's birthday

party. Somehow, talking about it makes it feel a

    little closer.

    And one more thing...

I've made smoothies, which is something I usually do

in the summer. It's not quite the same as sipping one

on a hot day, but it helps remind me of summer.
