    Default Beef Stew Meat

Ok, probably everyone already does this but instead of buying stew meat, buy a cheap cut of meat or whatever is on sale and using a pair of kitchen scissors to cut it up yourself into one inch chunks. If you simmer it for 2 hours, any cut of meat will be tender.

This is what we do as well, a few weeks ago beef "stew" meat was $5.99 a pound at our local store, but they had a cheaper roast for $1.99 a lb. We also have a tendency to buy beef in bulk when it's on sale and vacuum seal it until needed. Normally this time of year I'm looking for decent trim roasts that I can use to make fresh jerky out of!
    ~Enjoy!~

I usually look in the reduced meats section for large steaks or roasts. When I get home, I cut them up, label, then freeze.
Much cheaper option than buying stew meat.
