Default Superbowl Sunday: Super easy Stuffed Mushrooms

    1 lb white mushrooms, whole

    2 tablespoons olive oil

    3 tablespoons garlic, finely minced

2 (8 ounce) packages cream cheese, softened

    1/2 teaspoon black pepper

    1/2 teaspoon onion powder

    1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper

    1/2 cup parmesan cheese, grated

    Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

Wipe mushooms clean and remove stems. Mince stems finely.

In large skillet over medium heat, heat oil. Saute garlic and

mushrooms until soft, and liquid has disappeared. If necessary, turn

heat down in order not to burn garlic. Add black pepper, onion

powder, cayenne pepper, and Parmesan cheese.

Once thoroughly combined, add cream cheese to skillet. Stir until

thoroughly combined, then remove from heat.

Fill mushrooms caps liberally with stuffing. Arrange mushrooms on

    greased baking sheet.

Bake at 350 degrees for 20 minutes, until liquid forms underneath

mushrooms and top is brown and bubbly.

If you want to make Seafood Stuffed Mushrooms, add 1/2 can drained

crab meat to the stuffing mixture

Forgive me if this has already been discussed. i read some old posts from last year, but didn't directly apply.

I just logged back onto turbo tax.com to file my 07 taxes. I loved it last year because it answered all my questions about deductions and best of all it was FREE. The entire thing.

Now, I know that I only got the state filings for free because I had to go to the state gov. website and access turbotax through them. (income has to qualify). BUT, I don't remember if I did it the same way with the federal.

I've surfed around the irs.gov website for a bit now and can't find anything like that. The filing going straight through turbo tax.com is still free for federal for me, but it won't answer my questions, I either know the answers or i don't (don't get me wrong, its easier than using papers and guess work... I would just like to maximize my return....for FREE)

I'm not crazy, I've done it for every year I've filed, I'm 22 and I've been
filing since I was a freshman in high school. Been using it for 5 years. Guess its finally starting to hit, my memory is going down hill.. I can't remember what i did last year!

Any help, advice, anyone have the slightest idea what I'm talking about?

Be sure to double check your numbers. I tried to do online this

year, used 5 different sites, and not a single one came back with

the same numbers. They all gave me something different- with amounts

ranging from $300 to $1800 on state alone.

I don't trust them, not after seeing that. A LOT of people are being

audited this year, and I've heard that most of the people being

audited use the online programs. After getting such largely

different amounts, I don't trust that they do them correctly.

There's no reason why 5 programs should give me a different number

    off the exact same information.

We gave up, and saved our peace of mind, and got someone else to do

    them.

The only way I would use any of the "free" online tax programs was to go through www.irs.gov first. They have alink for "free file" for people who make less than $50,000 a year if single, married is more but I don't remember how much more. At least the companies that have links on the irs site have been somewhat screened.
