Need Help: Dry Erase Marker on wall

One of my kids used a dry erase marker on the wall at my mom's house. We tried a few different things and can't get it off. We don't want to rub to hard and take the paint off. If anyone has an idea please let me know. Thanks Eileen

I would think it will need to be repainted.

Have you tried old fashioned Comet powder cleanser and a sponge? Then, rinse well. That stuff removes a lot of "wall decor".

    Good luck!

Use a Magic Eraser-- it worked on our walls, including a bingo dauber

Look in the cleaning aisle-- in a small box (they worked for my little
    van gogh!) ~trina~

I have 2 ideas for you - I have never tried either for your situation - BUT - you could try the cleaner that you would use on a dry erase board - OR - maybe the Magic Eraser by Mr. Clean . . . . . good luck . . . . . Julie

    Eileen,
Have you tried a Mr Clean magic eraser. They work for a lot of things that I could not get off with other cleaners.

Did you try the magic eraser? I would try it cautiously if you haven't.

It took permanent marker off our conter top.

    Hi Eileen
A Mr Clean Magic Eraser may take it off...I have heard it works. Rubbing alcohol and hairspray may work also. I've never tried either so someone else may have a TNT tip.

I have had excellent results lately with 409 getting virtually
everything clean!!! My new best friend introduced me to it. Or you
could also try hairspray, Mr Clean Magic Eraser or straight alcohol &
lots of elbow grease & let the kid that did it help too! Good luck.
