I really like your menu. And have a happy birthday! Curry chicken is my dh's favorite meal. I make mine in the crockpot and when I have habenero peppers I add one or two. Don't add 4 like I did one time. It was too spicy.

Thank all of you so Much..

    Northern beans

    Two Cups Northern Beans(Dry)
    3 Pieces of Bacon
Pork bone{from a Pork Butt(we had Pulled pork Last Month and I saved and froze the cooked bone)
    A SMALL potato
    Water to cover
Salt and pepper(To Taste)(I use Original Mrs Dash)

Soak beans Overnight..Or boil on stove 20mins
Add all Ingredients In crock pot
except Potato... Peel (helps Gas problems with Beans)
    add Potato to Crock pot
Cook On low Eight hours or until beans are done

Serve with Green Onions..(I like to add Cornbread and Hot sauce and Ketchup in mine)
We always have Fried potatoes and onions on the side/also Fried spinach w/ Bacon

(doesn't sound to healthy But It sure is good)

I LOVE white beans and cornbread!! Hubby usually wants fried potatoes with his also.
I've not used bacon in my beans, but my SIL does. She swears by it.
I always save and freeze our ham bones or the ham hock off a cooked ham. When I'm ready to serve beans, (white, pinto, cranberry, etc...), I'll soak them overnight like vampixen does.
The next day I drain and rinse the beans REALLY WELL. That saves me from adding either a carrot or potato to help with the intestinal discomfort.
I add the drained and rinsed beans, water to cover by about an inch, a couple diced onions, and the ham bone or ham hock. Then cook on low all day. When almost done, season to taste.
See how similar our recipes are...it must be a Southern thing. lol
