Munchy Onion Rings

3-4 large onions-thinly sliced 1/2 tsp salt black pepper-to taste 1 egg 1 cup AP flour 1/2 tsp soda 1 cup buttermilk 1. Separate onion slices into rings. Soak them in ice water for 2 hours. 2. Drain onions and pat dry.

    black pepper-to taste
    1 egg
    1 cup AP flour
    1/2 tsp soda
    1 cup buttermilk

    1. Separate onion slices into rings. Soak them in ice water for 2 hours.

    2. Drain onions and pat dry.
    3. Mix remaining ingredients in bowl.
    4. Dip onions into batter, pull up, let small amount of excess drain back down, then fry in hot oil until golden. Season again with salt-to taste.

    Oops, just saw this. Urallee is correct. The soda = baking soda.
